Alex and Joe

Alex and Joe’s first date was meant to be at the Art Gallery (where, incidentally, they’ve still never been), but they ended up at the sticky-floored Kings Cross Hotel instead — a venue much more in line with both of their personalities. Their relationship was made official later in the most unglamorous way possible: an A&E visit for a stuck earplug, where Joe introduced himself as her “partner”. From there came music, laughter, kids and a home that’s equal parts chaos and calm.

Their proposal echoed that first date and embraced the comfortable joy of simply being together. Alex and Joe’s story reminds us that love is about finding someone whose quirks perfectly complement your own; someone who turns sticky-floored pubs into romantic memories and makes parenting feel like an adventure. They’re headed for a lifetime of quiet mornings, loud laughter and infinite love.
